Basic care and regular maintenance are the mainstays of keeping your pallet truck running smoothly and problem free year after year. We recommend that these checks are carried out once a year as standard.
1. Inspect push rods and load wheel brackets – while performing this visual check look for any signs of damage or excessive wear.
2. Inspect the main frame torsion tube bar for wear and tear, then grease
3. Inspect the entire frame and each component as it is removed for any signs of wear and tear, fracture or stress. You may want to take photos of any likely problems and store them with the completed inspection report each year.
4. Check all pins for wear and tear, replace any lock pins or circlips that are showing signs of wear. Keep a note of which components you replace.
5. Check hydraulic fluid levels and inspect for hydraulic leaks
6. Test raise, lower and set to neutral. Reset. This operation should be smooth. If there are any issues, report them immediately.
7. Visually check all wheels and bearings. Do they show signs of wear and tear? Do any need to be replaced? Remove debris from load and steer wheel axles while checking wheels and bearings.
8. Grease pivot assembly, trigger and lowering mechanism.
