Pallet Truck Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions and answers you may have about our pallet trucks, delivery charges and other products

What are the delivery charges?
Delivery charges are based on the item(s) and delivery location, these are calculated at checkout before payment it taken. If you have several items to order, it maybe worth checking with us first - as we may have cheaper alternatives to consolidate multiple items. Delivery charges are based on deliveries to manned business premises with the facility to unload the goods. The carriers charge extra for the following services: Booked-in deliveries, Timed Deliveries, Tail-Lift Deliveries, Failed deliveries and Residential address deliveries. If your delivery requirement falls in one of these brackets, you need to contact us first. (Please also see terms and conditions in customer services)

How long does it take for despatch?
Unless stated otherwise items are normally in stock, subject to prior sale. We therefore endeavour to despatch the same or next working day.

How long does delivery take after despatch?
Most items are sent on a standard service (normally next day delivery), but some items maybe sent on a 2-3 day service - please contact us if you have an urgent requirement.

Where areas do you ship to?
The website accepts orders for shipment to UK Mainland, Industrial Scotland and The Scottish Highlands - we reserve the right to cancel any internet order which falls outside of the standard zones. For any other areas such as Dublin, EIRE, Isles of Scilly, Scottish Isles, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and Northern Ireland - please phone us for a carriage quote - or alternatively, you are welcome to arrange collection from our warehouse.

Do you offer any warranties?
Please contact us for further details. Many of our products carry a return to base warranty, but the warranty does not extend to areas outside the standard delivery zones mentioned above.

What is the difference between Polyurethane and Nylon wheels?
Polyurethane are generally the most popular wheel type and are a cast wheel with a polyurethane tyre around the outer, this wheel gives a better grip on smooth floors and is quieter running than Nylon. This softer wheel type also tends to be better for use on delicate flooring (finished floor surface).

Nylon wheels are a hard rigid plastic wheel, they tend to be better in areas that may have debris on the floor such as engineering work shops etc as the debris does not penetrate into the wheel.

Can you supply a certificate of conformity?
Yes, but they must be requested at the time of order and an administration charge may be payable.

I sometimes need to unload delivered pallets but donít want the expense of a forklift truck, what can I use?
We stock a range of Manual Stacker pallet trucks that are designed to offer an economical solution for lifting pallets, they operate in a similar way to a fork lift truck and are available in a variety of models for capacity and pallet type.

Do you recommend any regular maintenance on pallet trucks?
Basic care and regular maintenance are the mainstays of keeping your pallet truck running smoothly and problem free year after year. We recommend minimum checks to be carried out once a year as standard - please click here for the Midland Pallet Trucks Annual Health and Safety Inspection for Pallet and Pump Trucks data sheet.
